SHS PTA Teen Gambling Presentation
Middle school and high school faculty and parents report an uptick in student gambling given the availability of online platforms. To address these concerns, we have arranged for a presentation to 10th graders at the high school on December 3rd. Parents are invited to a session on Monday, December 1st at 7:00pm in the SHS Little Theater to preview the presentation, discuss underage gambling/betting and mental health, and gain strategies for fostering healthy choices at home. The presentation will be co-facilitated by John Tessitore, Founder of the JCK Foundation, a nonprofit promoting mental health awareness and resilience, and Monique Tricarico, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Underage Gambling Prevention Coordinator at Student Assistance Services Corporation, a nonprofit providing youth prevention and education services.
