From time to time individuals and entities including trusts, estates, business corporations, not-for-profit corporations, parent-teacher associations, booster organizations, foundations, or other lawful groups may offer gifts to the District or to a particular school. Gifts may come in the form of real property, donations, grants and/or bequests of money, or other forms of personal property ("Gifts"). The Board greatly appreciates such support and generosity. The Board also recognizes its responsibility to provide adequate funding for the District’s programs and services it offers. With this understanding, the Board will consider the acceptance of Gifts and will be receptive to offers of Gifts which adhere to the principles and procedures set forth in the Board’s gift policy #1800. The District's gift procedures require gifts exceeding $1,000 to be first presented as an information item for Board discussion and appear on the next scheduled meeting agenda as an action item, providing any outstanding questions have been answered.
