Capital Projects Bond Survey
We are pleased to invite the community to participate in our Capital Projects Bond Survey. The survey will remain open until Friday, October 24. Please note this is the first phase of public feedback on the proposal. There will be additional opportunities for public comment as the process unfolds, including a Zoom public input session on November 6 at 7pm. Please complete the survey and encourage other members of the Scarsdale Schools community to do so as well by scanning or clicking on the QR code, or by accessing the survey here.
Halloweekend is High Risk
Halloween weekend is when many younger teens first try alcohol and older teens binge drink or use drugs. Every year, Scarsdale teens are hospitalized due to drinking too much alcohol. Even one drink can be riskier than you think. Scarsdale Action for Youth encourages parents and caregivers to start the conversation at home now. SAY's Don't Be Scared Be Prepared campaign provides key tips for parents on how to Beware, Prepare, and Take Care.
Unity Day October 22
October is National Bullying Awareness Month, and this coming Wednesday, October 22, is Unity Day, the signature event established by the PACER Center. Unity Day is a moment to WEAR and SHARE ORANGE to come together in one giant message uniting our nation for kindness, acceptance and inclusion, and even the world, to visibly show that we believe no child should ever experience bullying.
Public Feedback a Success!
Last night, we held the first of two public feedback sessions related to a potential Capital Projects Bond. Following a brief 15 minute overview of the process and projects proposed to date, members of our community asked questions and engaged in discussion with Capital Projects Steering Committee members; District Administrators; our Architects, Engineer, and Construction Manager; and Board of Education members. Displays highlighting the projects proposed at each school were available for review, and feedback cards were provided for questions, concerns, and suggestions. This important community input will be summarized and discussed at the next Board of Education meeting on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Paint the 'Dale October 26
Paint the 'Dale has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 26 from 8:00am-1:00pm (apologies for not noting the new date in last week's Friday Five). All residents and members of our school community are invited to participate in this free, family-friendly event where you can help paint a mural and enjoy art activities, crafts, and games. Come out and be a part of this great event!
