Budget Vote and Board Election: 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM, May 20, 2025

    *February 3, 2025: Budget Study Session #1

    *March 3, 2025: Budget Study Session #2

    April 21, 2025: Candidate Nominations and/or Propositions are due in the District Clerk's office by 5:00 p.m.

    April 21, 2025: Deadline for Military Personal Registration

    April 22, 2025: Applications for Absentee and Early Mail Ballots are available to be submitted.

    April 25, 2025: Military Ballots Must be Distributed No Later than 25 Days Before the Vote.  

    *May 12, 2025: Statutory Budget Hearing

    May 15, 2025: Last Day to Register to Vote

    May 20, 2025: Annual Budget Vote and School Board Election, Middle School Gym

  • To be eligible to vote in any Scarsdale Union Free School District (SUFSD) election, budget vote, or referendum, residents of the District must be:

    • At least 18 years of age
    • A citizen of the United States
    • A resident of the SUFSD for at least 30 days before the vote date
    • Registered to vote

     

    Check to see if you are registered for the general elections.

    Check to see if you are registered with SUFSD.

  • Residents must be registered for either general elections (with the Westchester County Board of Elections) or school elections. Any person who resides in the SUFSD and is registered with the Westchester County Board of Elections to vote in our District does not need to register separately with the District, OR you must be registered with SUFSD and have voted in a school election within the past four years.

    If you are not registered to vote, you may:

    1. Register with the Westchester County Board of Elections using the New York State Voter Registration Form.  
    2. File an online application with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.
    3. Register with SUFSD using the Registration Form (Spanish) with the District Clerk by appointment. *Registration forms need to be signed at the time of registration. Voter registration forms for the May 20th Budget Vote and Board Elections will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025.

  • Absentee Ballots: Applications for absentee ballots are available on April 21, 2025.

    • If the application is mailed, it must be received by the District Clerk by Tuesday, May 13, 2025 (7 days before the vote).
    • The application may be emailed or personally delivered. The District Clerk must receive the completed application by May 13, 2025 (no later than 7 days before the election). If the requested absentee ballot is to be picked up, the application must be emailed or personally delivered by Monday, May 19, 2025.
    • Applications may be personally delivered to the District Clerk by Monday, May 19, 2025.
    • Completed ballots must be received in the office of the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on May 20, 2025.

     

    Early Mail Ballots: Applications for an early mail ballot are available on April 21, 2025.

    • If the application is mailed, it must be received by the District Clerk by Tuesday, May 13, 2025 (7 days before the vote).
    • The application may be emailed or personally delivered. The District Clerk must receive the completed application by May 13, 2025 (no later than 7 days before the election)If the requested early mail ballot is to be mailed, the District Clerk must receive the completed application by May 13, 2025 (no later than 7 days before the election). 
    • Applications may be personally delivered to the District Clerk by Monday, May 19, 2025.
    • Completed ballots must be received in the office of the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on May 20, 2025.

     

    Military Voters: A qualified military voter can personally register to vote using the Military Personal Registration Form (Spanish).

    • The deadline for military personnel registration is April 21, 2025.
    • A military voter can request an absentee ballot using the Military Absentee Ballot Application Form (Spanish). On this form, military voters can indicate their preference to receive their absentee ballot by mail, fax, or e-mail. If no preference is noted, or the proper information is not provided by email or fax, the absentee ballot will be transmitted by mail. Applications must be received no later than April 21, 2025.
    • Military Ballots must be distributed no later than 25 days before the vote (April 25, 2025).
  • The Board of Education is the policy-making body of the Scarsdale Union Free School District, responsible for the general supervision of the schools. The seven elected, volunteer members of the Board serve staggered terms of three years. Custom calls for a limit of two terms. 

    The Board Election on May 20th is to fill three (3) Board seats currently held by Colleen Brown, Suzie Hahn, and Ron Schulhof, whose terms expire on June 30, 2025.
